Hydrogen Europe is the leading organization representing European based companies and stakeholders that are committed to moving towards a (circular) carbon neutral economy. With more than 300 companies and 30 national associations as members, we encompass the entire value chain of the European hydrogen and fuel cell ecosystem. Our vision is to propel global carbon neutrality by accelerating European hydrogen industry and we are the industrial key partner of the Clean Hydrogen partnership.

The senior analyst will be part of the Intelligence team.

Main responsibilities

The tasks will include:

  • Analyse complex EU legislation and assess their impact on the entire Hydrogen value chain
  • Identify business opportunities and threats stemming from current and future EU legislation together with market intelligence colleagues
  • Coordinate work on pre-normative research, standards and certification (Guaranties or Origin, H2 vocabulary, LDV, maritime and LH2..) both internally and externally (Clean Hydrogen Joint Undertaking, the European Commission, CEN, CENELEC, ISO)
  • Provide in-depth regulatory intelligence data to the policy team in support of EU advocacy activities
  • Contribute to intelligence deep dive reports, the clean hydrogen monitor and funded projects
  • Communicate accurate and clear regulatory analyses to members and external stakeholders
  • Respond to ad-hoc requests from Hydrogen Europe members and colleagues
  • Contribute to the management and growth of Hydrogen Europe’s Intelligence services

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in law – preferably EU law
  • 5 years minimum work experience a law firm, in-house, standards and certifications body or trade association
  • Proven track record in EU policy / regulatory affairs / standards and certification
  • Ability to navigate and establish links between technology, economic and regulatory affairs matters
  • Capacity to analyse complex legal texts and translate them into business imperatives
  • Proven expertise in clean technologies and their applications (energy, mobility, industry, buildings…) and willingness to learn about the hydrogen sector
  • Strong project management, organizational and time management skills; ability to manage tight deadlines and multiple issues with multiple stakeholders from all over Europe
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills addressing a range of stakeholders internally and externally
  • Proven fluency in English. Knowledge of other European languages an asset
  • Curiosity, flexibility, reliability, team-player approach with can-do attitude
  • IT literate with proficient use of Microsoft Office

Nice to have

  • Degree in economics / business
  • Experience in Hydrogen technologies and business
  • An existing network amongst relevant sector companies and organisations
  • Additional languages
